New Journal To Be Published By SAGE In 2010: Social Psychological And Personality Science

SAGE, the world"s fifth largest publisher of academic journals, is pleased to announce the January 2010 launch of a new quarterly journal, Social Psychological and Personality Science (SPPS). SPPS will publish cutting-edge, short reports of single studies, or very succinct reports of multiple studies. The journal"s brief, to-the-point research articles will be of broad interest to both professional and lay audiences and will be written in a format accessible to a wide range of readers, including science writers for the popular press. It will feature a speedy review and publication process to allow groundbreaking research to be published quickly. SPPS is being published in partnership with the Association for Research in Personality, the European Association of Social Psychology, the Society of Experimental and Social Psychology, and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, as well as other co-sponsors that will be announced soon. The more than 6,000 social and personality psychology scholars worldwide who are members of the founding societies will receive SPPS as a benefit of membership. "Social Psychological and Personality Science (SPPS) fills an important niche for social and personality researchers: It will allow us to communicate cutting edge developments in the field quickly, to a very large audience, and one certain to grow as we add additional scholarly societies from around the world as sponsors of the journal," said Linda Skitka, Professor of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the chairperson of the consortium of societies who founded the journal in cooperation with SAGE. SAGE also publishes the highly-ranked Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin and Personality and Social Psychology Review on behalf of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. "No current journal focuses uniquely on social psychological and personality research using a fast-track that enables cutting-edge developments to be made quickly available," said Alison Mudditt SAGE Executive Vice President, Higher Education Group. "We"re very pleased to now be able to provide this new outlet for high quality social psychological and personality research with Social Psychological and Personality Science."
